The EB EXPO was held 15th and 16th of October at the sunny Gold Coast in Queensland. Fives, XT_Unknown and I (Lordo) from our HoN Division were lucky enough to be able to attend and represent Exile5.

The event is one of the largest gaming expo in Australasia with all major gaming companies – EA, Bethesda etc – gearing up to show off their latest developments.

It was also a great chance for people to see first-hand some of the top tier competitive teams in Australia for League of Legends, Counter-strike 1.6, Fifa 11 and Starcraft 2. These teams were competing for WCG Australia to see who would be sent over to Korea to battle against the world’s best.

At the WCG booth were two of our sponsors CM Storm and Western Digital. It was really great to hang out with our sponsors and help their booths. There was heaps of interest in the new gear from CM Storm and Western Digital, and lots of people really enthusiastic about the brand which was awesome to see.

Having a few people coming up to tell me they were fans of our organisation and, even more specifically, our Battlefield and HoN teams, was really awesome. I even spent a good 20 minutes talking to a young (maybe 10?) kid’s dad about what it takes to compete at the top level of gaming. He wanted to know all things like how much to practice, how to get in to a good team and where to start.


The highlight was getting special access to the Battlefield 3 section to see first-hand the game which is being released on the 27th of October. Unfortunately it was only the single player and only for 10 minutes!

Overall the event was interesting. It was a good experience and was great to get our name out there and meet up with CM Storm and Western Digital.
