WD VelociRaptor WD3000HLHX Review
Western Digital sent us a couple of their latest premium, performance hard drives to have a look at. We decided to do an up to date review on the monster known as “The VelociRaptor”. The drives are from the “Enterprise Storage” family, and are the highest quality drives manufactured by the storage device giant. Knowing that Enterprise storage drives are designed and manufactured to suit the demands of servers, and enthusiast systems, and backed up with a 5 year warranty,…
HoN Division Places Second in CG Professional League
Sunday the 25th of September marked a good result for Exile5's Heroes of Newerth Division as they took out a solid second in the CyberGamer AC Ryan HoN Pro League. The result sheds light on the amount of effort the guys have been putting in to pull out the wins and get ahead in the league.Strong plays throughout the season by FiveS and XT_unknown coupled with the late implementation of New Zealand support sensation InvertedNZ allowed the team…
CSS Win MSI Sunday Mayhem ODC.
The champion player-swapping underbelly of the cyber sports world, without a doubt, is the Counter Strike community. To be successfully seated in the top 3, a team needs to have passion and a Mike Tyson, ear biting, drive to win. Last Sunday, our CSS division won $800 for 1st place the MSI Sunday Mayhem ODC. The score lines for most of the games being so close that the matches could have gone either way. The team tended to give…

Here at Exile5 we wish to proudly announce our new Heroes of Newerth team. This new division has just won 2nd spot at the Tt eSports Australian HoN Net Cafe Challenge over the weekend and has recently stepped up to go pro with us. The guys showed a lot of avant garde strategies which showed courage when they were under the gun and prevailed.
CSS National Champions 2011
On 21 June 2011 the Exile5 CSS team travelled 9,542 km's collectively to sit down together and play some counter-strike source in the old mining town of Ballarat. After our first practice (the night before on LAN) we played well as a team against arch rivals Archaic and were confident in our ability to frag and clutch. The next morning the team got off the ground against Carnage and NaVi winning both games comfortably setting the scene for…

CoolerMaster Storm Enforcer Modding and Review
Being part of Team Exile eSports seems to have given me some great opportunities, one of those was being able to take ownership of a brand new Coolermaster Storm Enforcer case and being told to 'Mod' and review the product with the pre-requisite that I was able to do anything i liked to the case. Taking this on board I wanted to be able to show other PC enthusiasts what ideas i had.

Sydney Gamers League LAN and Team Exile5
On Saturday the 28th of January over 16 players from Team Exile5 embarked on a journey, a competitive gaming journey. The players represented two separate divisions, Battlefield and Call of Duty who were prepared to compete against some of the best competition in Australia.
The LAN was located at Rosehill Racecourse Exhibition centre which had booked over 500 prepaid seats and was prepared to host over 1000’s visitors and gamers. The event hosted games ranging from Real Time Strategy, First Person Shooters and even social games such as a pool table and ping pong. The main competitions our teams were competing in were Call of Duty: Professional, Battlefield 3 8v8s and 4v4s which are currently two of the most seriously competitive FPS games on the market.
The Call of Duty: Pro competition consisted of 12 x 5 man teams that had players that are considered freakishly good and teams that are possibly rated best in Oceania. The Day 1 competition was a group format elimination which had 2 groups of 6 teams with the top 3 in each group moving through to the final stage on Day 2. On Day 2 the top tier teams competed in a knockout format in a Best of 3 maps.
The Team Exile5 team progressed through the competitors calmly and made it into the Grand Final in which they versed MindFreak in nail biting intense match. Unfortunately Exile5 Call of Duty lost in the Grand Final match in a close ending coming second overall in the Call of Duty: Pro.
The Competition in 8v8 Battlefield 3 consisted of 9 teams which is huge amount of players, especially at lan. The main dominant teams in the Competition were Carnage, NFY, Star Warriors and Team Exile5 who progressed into the finals after a round robin tournament.
Team Exile5 made it into the Grand Finals against Carnage in a Best of 3 maps competition. Carnage selected Grand Bazaar for the first match where Team Exile5 won both Rounds on the map by only a limited ticket margin. Team Exile5 selected Damavand Peak which can be one of the most difficult maps if you make a single error. The Exile5 team won the map by a significant margin making them the Battlefield 3 8v8 Champions.

The next Competition was Battlefield 3 4v4s with around 8 solid teams. The Exile5 team split into two and both teams mananged to make it into "x5 vs x5 Grand Final" after knocking out Carnage and NFY their main competitors. The Grand Final map played was Grand Bazaar which ended up being a seriously close match between the two teams although Alpha team managed to scrape through with 4-2 win.
SGL was one of the most interactive and engaging environments that you have be there to experience it.

Special mention to everyone who was there who made the event what it was and the sponsors Western Digital, Coolermaster, CM Storm and iinet for getting us there and providing us with gear to make us guarantee our results. We would also like to say a massive congratulations and thanks to our friends and organisers at Sydney Gamers Leage (SGL) for putting it all together again for 1,500 bandwidth hungry gamers.

Battlefield New Year Update
Welcome to 2012 and Happy New Year from the Battlefield Division. So what could have happened over the Christmas Break? Chilling out, taking time off and just enjoying the sun? Well the Team eXile5 Battlefield division has been going pretty much nonstop. We managed to come 4th in the Team Immunity Cup which is a magnificent result considering we rated as the underdogs and were able to knock out some of best teams in Australia.
BattleField 3 - iM CUP update
Team Exile vs Sequential Gaming - iM Cup BattleField 3 On Sunday night at 8:30pm two prominent teams competing in the Team Immunity Battlefield 3 Cup clashed. The match was fought between Team eXile5 and Sequential Gaming who were both ready for one of the most anticipated cup matches to date. Grand Bazaar was chosen for the match and is known as a map which combines tight corners for infantry and choke points for the 2 infantry fighting vehicles.
The round ended in a 119 lead to Team eXile5 giving them 217 tickets for final result.

Exile 5 vs Carnage 10v10 iM Cup Tuesday 9pm 13/12
Round 2 Went incredibly fast as x5 were pushed back to one flag after carnage got a hold of Hilltop and prevented pushes by the air. A few flank attempts meant that the flag bleed went to neutral although that didn't last as the Armour man ThrasK pushed. Carnage managed to maintain the bleed to a 106 ticket lead. |
