Wow if it is a new bf announcement it is about freaking time
Bet they are only announcing the 1.5 patch due out in time for Xmas 2010.
Cynics of the world, dont bother uniting!

lol
Another rumor that snow > EA. Typical.
Snow would have to be the leading cause of software development issues and set backs.
With the outdoor nature of the programing and testing.
Damn the frozen precipitation... move all programers to Ayers rock I say!
Then they will have no choice but goon or program..Brudda
Yeah but the problem I see is that snow keeps things cooler so they should be able to test everything at high res!
Who needs cooling when its -10 outside, just keep the door open ffs.

Now the way I see it this is the third BF story on Kotaku all week. Something is going to happen soon. Although 1943 would be cool, I know we don't really want another WW2 shooter (considering Heroes is as well :S), there is mention of possibly more titles to be developed or at least announced this year. So chin up!
yeh i heard of 6 games being developed around bf.
Id rather BF3 which is the BF2 remake or anything current war series. They've learn alot on how to improve the rego in the game and dont have the time to redo it on bf2 from scratch.
The source was translated, turns out BF1943 is for 360 and PS3. *sigh*
And yeah Smiley I think that's what we all want, a new engine (for rego and graphics/physics etc) based in a modern setting.
Ok so it is coming out on PC as well.
Here are some pics etc

Here is a HD ready trailer (just click HD under the vid on the right).
YouTube - Battlefield 1943 official trailer !!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5eDOTW3pjA)
Looks quite meh.
DUDES IF that comes out on PC it will be SWEET!
Who cares if its not modern combat, if trees, buildings and shit destroys like it does in that video it will still be an epic game to play.
I would prefer modern war of course, but IF the engine has good rego AND environmental destruction AND PC AND 64 + players then the game will be awesome to play.
I like the new looking wake, much more hills to snipe from and the bombing looks groovy!
If the flak cannons go off like in the vid as well it will look VERY cool to play.
Would buy new pc to play this.
Its 24 players over 3 maps. Not much of a "Battlefield" game to me.
hmm would rather a modern setting, still looks ok though
Don't know how I over read this, but Bad Company 2 is also being released on PC. That's actually really good news. I enjoyed Bad Company on 360 but my gripes were no Aussie servers so lag was shit and obviously without a mouse it felt a little slower. But the destructible environments, beautiful graphics and updated modern setting was wicked.
Looks like we do have something to look forward to after all. Hears hoping for more than 24 players though :D

Under promise then over deliver.
Its the latest craze..
Take Fries for example he was [BnG] with HooT and look how well Fries turned out to be.
3 Maps to start and then they will hit us up for more money$$? Hope not.
At least they have visions and games coming... xfingers that all works out.
