well thank god for that !!!

I apsolutely loved bf 1942 and it was my first online fps that I got into & can't believe its been 7 years since...

nope jack, there will be a PC version of the game also, same as for bf bad company 2, so there will be something for everyone, i.e. ppl who like the ww2 setting as well as modern warfare :)

Yeah Miki personally I'll be more waiting for BC2. Only because it's modern though. If it's anything close to what has been announced for 1943, I will be disappointed. 1943 will be fun I don't doubt it, but it will fail to stand as a competitive Battlefield game due to these reasons.

- 24 players max (eg 12v12 on wake with 2 players in the air = wtf? slow match)
- 3 maps
- 3 classes (rounding off specific skills into 3 major classes)
- unlimited ammo
- automatic health recharge (this and above knocks out the need for medics/supply classes)

It's obvious Dice/Ea want to reach a very casual audience, and like a lot of people have been saying, I really hope that this isn't what they had planned for their 'hardcore' demographic in 2009.

Dice planned 6 titles, so hopefully the other 4 have BF3.

I hear ya fatal... but it really dosen't have to sound that bad for now. I remember even before bf2 came out ppl were all going 'omg wtf' at some of the new features that the game had but once everyone got used to it and adapted it was sweet as. I particularly remember ppl being very concearned about the squad leader & commander features but they turned out alright.

as far as server size goes, 12v12 was the format played in the original bf 1942 which worked great, however for pubs I think they'l more than likely bump up that limit which is what they said themselves "The numbers might get bumped up on the PC, but that's not a sure thing". personaly I prefer smaller size server numbers, means theres less spam and its just overall more balanced which is what it should be about imo

I agree 3 maps is a bit disapointing but i'm guessing because of the huge details they have to deal with creating them, it might not be as easy to come up with new maps as ppl might think... then again I could be wrong and they'r just lazy :S the health recharge during combat I can't say sounds good to me either...

from what I understood, the unlimited ammo feature is just for the weapon itself and not anything else, i.e. i'm guessing you could have unlimited ammo clips & bullets for your guns but not an endless supply of nades (I hope i'm right)

having only 3 classes might not be a bad thing imo. in wars you can still dedicate ppl to do specific tasks like blow up stuff, set explosive traps, repair vehicles, lay mines etc so I don't see this being an issue in wars even if it is condenced to 3 classes... will be interesting to see how pubs go, and if anything it will teach ppl to be more versatile with their skills anyways

overall I really think we need to have a good go at it first and see how these new features effect gameplay before making any rash judgements, something that might sound bad now might turn out to be good and enjoyable once you try it, so we'l never be too sure until we actually play it :)

The video where you see the guy playing around with the camera angles in-game looks like it's VERY casual.

You can see this because of the way they write the text on screen when it says
Enemy capped beach. Or some shit like that.

And the extremely intuitive interface?

Unless there is something I'm not seeing (Which could well be the case) then I don't hold high hopes for BF1943.

I do like the original film clips that we saw for BF3 (Where the african-american is telling a story), but this isn't battlefield 3.

In any case, I'd like to see what EA can surprise us with.

Remember, they did take away the blackwhork. SURPRISE!
Hey, let's not forget guys, that they did bring out BF2, and even though the bullet rego is hit and miss (Unless you're lovelygary), we all loved it for the gameplay and the free titties. I just didn't get free titties with my copy (I mailed EA and asked, but no reply as of yet).

We can only hope, and wait (And use our contacts to get a test hopefully and lend our expert advice)
