Last night x5.tf2 faced off against Team Rewound (Formerly Eclipze) to defend their Ozfortress League Title which was gained last round with a 2-1 victory over nsf on cp_gravelpit.
The match last night was on cp_follower which is a map only recently introduced to competition. So far responses on the map have been mixed and many/most of the regular scrim partners of x5.tf2 have been reluctant to play us on it. Going into the match neither team had a great deal of practice/experience with the map.
x5.tf2 got off to a good start with a swift victory in the first round, followed by retaliation by rewound in the second to even it up to a 1-1 score line with 22~ minutes left on the clock. x5.tf2 then came back with 2 more rounds in their favour before rewound was able to take a second round win followed by 1 more round win by x5.tf2 to end the game at a 5-2 victory.
x5.tf2 remain the Title Holders for the competition, and next we will play 214 on cp_fastlane to defend the Title again.

Tonight x5.tf2 played against The Harbringers of Chaos in a quarter-finals game for the Custom Fortress League hosted by ozfortress.
In the CFL competition only custom maps are played - and these are generally maps that aren't being played in any other competitions in australia, so it's somewhat of a testing ground for any maps with a degree of promise for competitive play.
We've been involved in this comp from the start and have played 2 full rounds of 3 matches each and are now in the finals stage and have the highest seed.
Our first match up was vs THC on Furnace, Freight and Follower (best of 3), with Furnace being our pick and freight THC's.
Although we had never scrimmed on Furnace before and hadn't played freight for about 2.5months we were still fairly confident going up against THC as they are (I think) the lowest seed in the finals.
We got off to a kind of rocky start with one of our players (me :< ) crashing just as the game went live, and while we had a reserve who got in as soon as possible that sort of a shake up hurt us a bit and forced us to give up one of the points (Furnace is similar to gravelpit, an attack/defend map with 3 control points). However once our crashed player returned and we were able to reorganise at the final capture point we successfully held back THC, the attacking team, until the round timer ran out. We then switched sides and attacked, only needing to take 2 of the 3 capture points within 9 minutes which was easily accomplished. We then attacked again and although we had a bit more trouble on our second attack, and also had one of our members use one of the new weapons which is banned in the competition (THC were good sports and didn't press the issue, realizing it was an honest mistake), we were able to capture all 3 control points within a resonable time and on our second defence were able to hold 2 of the control points meaning we won the map.
We then played them on Freight and came off with a convincing 5-1 lead. THC pulled some good moves including some good sniping which afforded them 1 round against us but ultimately we were much more dominant and took this map away fairly quickly, winning us the match.
Our next match in this competition will be a Semi-Final against Intensity which is a challenge we are looking forward to.
:) Intensity should be a better match.

Tonight we played a ozfortress Title match vs 214 on cp_fastlane. They put up an ok fight but we beat them soundly with a 5-0 victory.
We then played a Semi-Finals game for Custom Fortress League against Intensity on cp_waste and cp_freight. We won waste 5-0 pretty quickly and won freight 5-2. They put up a good fight on freight and our inexperience on the map showed with serveral silly mistakes but we came out on top in the end~

Next up we will have the grand final for CFL sometime in the next 2 weeks.
nice one bys did listen in on the cast , seemed like a walk over as usual :)
tonights 214 game was probably the game we have prepared for most out of any. We scrimmed pretty hard on this particular map to make sure we won. We spent the first 10 mins on the map on our last legs stuck at last, but we broke out and ended up beating them 5-0.
