'Electronic Arts have today released a new round of screenshots for Battlefield 1943, their 24-player FPS title currently in development.

In Battlefield 1943, gamers play as the US Marines or the Imperial Japanese Navy, competing by land, air and sea. Battles take place on maps modelled from Battlefield 1942, and like Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield 1943 is a downloadable multiplayer-only title. No fog/ Destructible buildings.

Personally I find destroyable buildings too shallow a concept. They need to put more thought in.

I think Operation Flash point 2 nails this to the wall. 3d Destructible geometry is nothing without multi stage particle physics.

How cool would it be if they made like everything hell realistic like if u blew a hole in the wall the parts would act under the laws of physics and if u got hit by a chunk you would get knocked out lol.

the amount of calculations involved in a realistically destructive environment is insane, it will be ages before technology can do it even slightly properly. however, a good game doesn't need gimmicks to make it fun. nonetheless OFP2 is sexy XD

True punky, I still play games from 1994 because of their gameplay aspects.

We have PhysX processors, but it's just a matter of implementation and coding.

Or when we get mofo kick ass GPGPU's cranking in crossfire. HELLS YEAH.
