Hey I (markbar from dods div) just got BF2 the other day for like $7.50; anyway, the game is hell chunky and I was wondering if anyone could hook me up with a decent config to make the game..playable?
Im not sure if you guys have configs or if they are the same as the dods ones, but it would be appreciated if anyone could make it so I could see things on the screen.
Note: I'd want all graphics maxed out and 1920x1080 reso (I got the pc for it :P)
Cheers,
markbar
all gfx maxed out is nothing special, normally for a competitive edge i'd put everything on low apart from geometry leave that on high and put res to w/e you want, leave dynamic light/shad off though. Makes the game look pretty bad but it least it runs smooth.

My windows reso is 1920x1080
I just posted this in the hope that there were some commands or something to make all the hud maybe smaller or better in some way. I thought you guys might know some tricks but its ok if there isnt anything.
Note: ka0, I have easily enough power to cope with max graphics and no lag so I'm all for eye candy :P
i keep with the eye candy. Although a lower res sometimes can outline enenmy players or vehicles at distance. If you want to play lego beef :P

Yeah there is a command to fix your resolution bf2 to 1920x1080. I'll get back to you with it.
Kao is right. Although i can run everything max. Its easier to play when so setting are on low.
BF2 is pretty on max all, but plays badly IMHO. I have a beast comp that runs it all fine however there are refresh rate changes during big battles and lag fests, so most of the time I simply play with all low, cept view distance and geometry.
"C:\games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1920 +szy 1200
The line above is my shortcut key, you can see the switches at the end to force 1920 res...
You can change this to whatever you need.

Thats the line. You edit your shortcut on your desktop or start menu and add the bit after the bf2.exe. This will fix your res at 1920 x 1080

i got a 24" inch 16:9, and although capable of running at 1980 at over 100 frames, i'd still play max 1280by 720 headshots galore :)
