Last night saw us play our toughest match so far this season going up against TOG's leading infantry side the Phoenix. The battle took place on both of our favouriite maps being Mashtuur City. Oddly enough the same map we defeated Sequential Gaming on last season to make it into the Grand Final. Once again this map became the fork in the road with the winner to go onto the Season 3 Grand Final and the loser being shamed and knocked out of finals.
With a good 3 day lead up to the match it saw us get plenty of prac in, but not much clan vs clan practice until the Tues/Wed Nights. Luckily playing these helped us iron out some issues with the strat and got everyone switched on for the match.
Going in with a similar strat to that of when we beat sqL the last time we played this map, we knew we had to work harder against a very different side than sqL of TOG.

Our ultimate aim was quick capouts in both rounds, but with poor squadwork on our behalf and TOG resistance being impeccable it meant alot of the times we were just blowing our chances to secure the match.
The 1st round saw us roll out as USA with some TOG decoys gaining the edge early on, it took us a while to get on top and lock them down in their main, eventually taking the round out 101-0.
This set us up for the next round only needing to stay alive for 50 tickets to secure a victory. The foot stepped off the gas as ppl started to relax and Round 2 got underway.
TOG made it harder this time with massive attacks against our squads with alot of slaughter happening from both teams all over the map. Excellent defences by both teams saw alot of attacks on flags fail which is where alot of the tickets were lost for TOG and the game slowly fell away from them passing the 101 mark.
This didnt wary TOG as they kept up with punishing attacks targetting every flag and making it a very intense game right until the end. Unfortunately for TOG we held our defences and finished the round with a 45-0 win.
End Score being 146-0 and TOG being knocked out of the finals and we go through to meet Crex in the Grand Final on OBHD_Inf (Operation Blackhawk Down).
Thanks to TOG for the great match that lived up to expectations, and best of luck next season.
Still undefeated since starting out as a team back in April 2007, we are looking to win back to back Grand Finals and accomplish a feat never achieved by any team in Australian BF History.
