Basing the curiosity in this post is derived from some private threads in the forums, but just after an idea on how people hold their Mice.

There are quite a few variations to what could be considered "normal", and I always assumed mine was normal, until I started reading other peoples styles.

Basically, the way I would describe my mouse wielding style would be:

Palm: Central boney part of palm resting hard on the top of the mouse, with a slight cupping of the hand, and the rear of my palm gently resting on the base of the mouse, the rest of the palm, sits slightly away from the mouse.
Thumb: gently grips the left side of the mouse, and operates the thumb buttons, drags on the mousepad unintentionally due to typically sitting below the thumb buttons.
Index finger: is level with the tip of the Lft mouse button, starting on from just over the edge of the left side of the button, and angled slightly toward the middle mouse button. A slight bend of the knuckle is present.
Middle finger: rests on top of the Rght mouse button, offset from the centre of the mouse, with a very slight right angle, ending close to the middle mouse button, with a more significant bend of the knuckle.
Ring finger: rests against the right side of the mouse, tip of the finger is often used to drag on the pad to aid precision.
Pinky finger: rests entirely on the pad, and is adjusted accordingly for optimal mouse pad drag, and precision control.

Not sure what I would call my grip style, and I am curious to see other peoples setups.

Mine is mostly claw grip

Palm: Lower end of palm resting against the very back of the mouse, with cupping of the hand, and the rest of my palm barely touching the mouse.
Thumb: Grips the left side of the mouse, and pushes the mouse when dragging to the right
Index finger: Fingertip rests mid LMB and arcs from the base of the finger, also use MMB to push to talk with this finger
Middle finger: Pretty much exactly the same as Index Finger but never moves
Ring finger: Fingertip rests against the right side of the mouse and is used to drag the mouse left, only the tip of the finger is in contact with the mouse
Pinky finger: The same as ring finger but drags along the pad slightly

Plenty for me savage. I basically use the ball of my palm below my thumb as my pivot/reference point and together with my 2 outside fingers hold the mouse in a pincer like grip. The mouse needs to glide for me to be responsive. Weights or heavy mice are no good for me and a good rounded contour or bally/spherical shape is essential. Mice that are round at the back yet square/flat/boxy at the front where the main left/right buttons are, to me are unattractive and i find my index fingers have to sit lower. Also as i game for periods of time, wireless mice are useless and a corded mouse never runs out of juice.

My grip is exactly the same as immortals except my hand is a bit more flat rather than a cup sort of thing...

Mouses are generally based of two hand styles being palm (immortals definition) and claw (llamas definition). I'm not saying that all people only use these two grips, they are just the most common hence why all mouses cover both grips.

Wow, my hands have taken a beating over the years!
If anyones thinking, wow this immortal guy has cuts and shit all over his hands what a weirdo, it's because I work construction, and have had like a million fights and stuff. ;)

Having your pinky resting on the pad and not controlling the mouse looks UNCO to me.
