Go with the HD4850, it's a bit cheaper and outperforms the 9800GTX in many games. I'm not a big fan of the ATi drivers though, meh personal preference really. Not much difference between them, it's going to vary between games. Flip a coin ;)

Everything i've read says that the 9800GTX is a nose ahead. But the ATi 4850 is cheaper. So i'd buy an ATI 4850 or look at the ATi 4870

both those cards are pretty average, wait a bit longer n the 4870 will come down in price.

the 4870 is about 100dollars more than the 4850, ive got one, and everything i run @ max :)

but between those the cards you have specified, what is your motherboard?

get the 4850, better price to performance and down the track, if you want more performance, you can buy another 4850 and use 2 at the same time (crossfireX).

I just got a 4870 and it is fucking HUGE! Performs really well, and I did my research on it before I got it.
I would go for the 4850 for value, or save another 80 and go the 70.

the 4850 is best bang for bux on the market and a kick arse card if you have the hard ware to unleash all its power. The 9800s clock like a mother fucker and are typically better cards. So meh.
