On Saturday the 8th and Sunday 9th of November the Call of Duty 5 Party was launched at Swinburne University in Melbourne.
Sponsored and hosted by Alienware, Swinburne University, ATI, AMD, Microsoft XBOX 360, V Energy Drinks, Razer, AKAI and Edifer the event was a great indicator of things to come in Australia.
For 24 hours, over 800 people played, fragged, screamed and partied for 24 hours at one of the premium gaming universities in Australia.

The party started around 4:30pm in the afternoon with the expectant crowd already outside the venue and desperate to be the first in Australia to play the full version of the game.
As the doors opened hundreds streamed into the venue to ensure a seat on either a Microsoft Xbox360 or one of the hardcore Alienware PC’s and proceeded to play. For the next several hours the noise was non stop as players came to grips with the latest installment of the COD5 franchise. Representatives of several major gaming clans were at the venue ensuring a high level of play whilst newcomers to the gaming scene had a chance to test their skills against some of the best.
The latest edition in the Call of Duty series turned out to be insanely fun especially when being run on one of the premium machines from Alienware and played on Razer gear.
Set in WW2, COD went back its roots with some great additions and changes from COD4 by tweaking some of the multiplayer aspects.

Clan Exile 5 helped to prepare the battlegrounds and event alongside of their sponsors and friends. Many of x5 had flown across Australia to be there and it was a night of firsts as many of the players had never actually met face to face.

Razer, Edifer and Akai had their stand set up and was previewing and selling their quality products to members and some great deals were had by many who were only too eager to get their hands on high quality gaming gear at much discounted prices.

The guitar hero lounge was the chill out zone for those who had been owned too many times, and around 10pm the DJ set up and started to spin tunes.
This proved to be irresistible for the hot Hot HOT Alienware girls who shook their booties with patrons and staff on the small dance floor set up alongside the Razer stand.

The Net Game Radio crew casted live from the event with members RDNX and Johnny Sisko flying down to interview the public and staff about the event as it was underway.
Alongside of these two bastions of online gaming in Australia were VyperAus, Bench and Kabuto.
AUSBF.com also had representation with Quicksilverus flying all the way over from Tasmania to join in the festivities and fun.

The event was a resounding success as people from major gaming industry in Australia also had a chance to sit and chat in the media room whilst also previewing the COD5 game and others on a large projector screen.
A few quiet beers were had after the casts and great talks made the night fly by.

Much love to our new friends; Andy Hills from GA, George from Australian Gamer, Justin from Atomic, Troy from APC and all the staff who helped make the party so much fun. We all had great talks over the evening and expect to see you all again soon!
