Sunday 22nd of August 2010. Western Digital’s Team eXile5 wins Call Of Duty 4 LAN at second Melbourne Live Esports competition.
With some of Australia’s best COD4 teams and players in attendance, the first match started at 11am with eXile5 winning comfortably 16-2 against WhatsLEAN. The excitement however, was soon replaced with uncertainty when eXile5 lost the second match to Mindfreak 16-6.
With fire and brimstone eXile5 came back strongly winning 16-6 against Repression. A solid performance as Bradalz and Besty fought neck and neck for kills all throughout the match.

Next up was Team Keyboard Sports. The winner of this final group stage progressing to the semi-finals, and the losing team knocked out of the competition. Coming from a good win in the previous match and a much-needed lunch break, Team eXile5 finished strongly on 16-5 proceeding to the Semi Finals.
The match verses uF began with a shaky start. The first few rounds were lost and a jolt of nerves mixed with adrenaline saw eXile5 beating their enemies 16-12 in the first semi-final. uF were not happy, and persisting took the second map 16-12 sending the match into a third map play off. eXile5 proving to be the stronger team of the day won 16-6, progressing through to the grand final against Mindfreak.
The first few rounds were close, with both teams getting early round wins under their belts. The rounds were neck and neck until eXile5 pulled away to take the first map 16-13 with some of the fastest and bloodiest rounds of the competition.
Unfortunately, due to time constraints and flight bookings Mindfreak lost two key players after the first map. This was very unlucky as Mindfreak showed exactly what it takes to go neck and neck with the best teams as well as beating eXile5 in the early stages of the event.
With this in mind, the pressure was off eXile5 during the second map. Sensuki ripped apart Mindfreak round after round as eXile5 took the second map 16-8, winning the second Melbourne Live Esports event.

Team eXile5 would like to thank the organisers of the Melbourne Live Esports event, Gamestah and Western Digital our Key Sponsor. We all look forward to the next event and thank you for a truely awesome experience. With a special shout out to Pistol Clothing for making the Hoodies.
